Patrimony's Day : Larvotto's Beach

This year, the Patrimony's Day is organised by the ACCOBAMS Secretariat, the Music Academy and The FMAS. Each institution will provided its expertise for a particular event.
It was held on 30 september at the Larvotto's Beach.
The public but also the participants will be at first the children even if the last esperience showed us that adults are interessed as well.

 

ACCOBAMS Workshop on interactions between cetaceans and fishing

From 10th to 11th September, the "Workshop on interactions between cetaceans and fishing activities in Italy" will be held in Rome.

The workshop is organized by the ACCOBAMS Secretariat with the expert advice and the logistic support of ACCOBAMS Partner ICRAM, the Italian Central Institute for Marine Research. This activity will be performed in the frame of the project "Bycatch Program Italy-ACCOBAMS" and is supported by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies (Mipaaf).

 

ACCOBAMS/PELAGOS joint Meeting : towards a label for whale watching activities

In the frame of their collaboration, the Secretariats of ACCOBAMS and PELAGOS organized a meeting on whale watching activities. It was held on 23rd April at the Auditorium Rainier III in Monaco and operators from France, Italy and Monaco participated.

 

Training course on Cetacean Strandings Monitoring

In the frame of the development of the National Networks of Cetacean Strandings Monitoring, the ACCOBAMS Secretariat collaborated with the Institut National de Recherche Halieutique (INRH) of Morocco to organize a training course on Cetacean Strandings Monitoring techniques.

In the frame of the activities held for the celebration of the Year of the Dolphin, the ACCOBAMS Secretariat collaborates with the Consulate of Albania in Monaco to the organization of the exhibition "On the route of dolphins. Sights of sea in Monte Carlo, Genoa and Durres".

 

The ACCOBAMS Bureau met in Losinji

The 4th Meeting of the ACCOBAMS Bureau was held in Losinji, Croatia, from 11th to 12th June with the aim to contribute to the preparation of the next Meeting of the Parties (Dubrovnik, 22nd -25th October 2007).

 

ACCOBAMS celebrates the Year of the Dolphin 2007

The world campaign Year of the Dolphin, aiming to awaken public concerns on dolphins' protection, launched in Monaco last September with the patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, is reaching the core of its activities.
ACCOBAMS is one of co-founders of such initiative, which strives to intervene vigorously towards the protection of those species which face always increasing threats.

Lions Club meets Cetaceans

In the frame of the conference cycle to celebrate ACCOBAMS Tenth Anniversary, and to introduce ACCOBAMS' activities to the large public, the Secretariat renewed its meeting with the Clubs of the Principality. A conference for the members of Monaco's Lions Club was held on 26th October.

 

Operation MIMO

ACCOBAMS turned 10! This anniversary was celebrated in Monaco on 17th September.
On this memorable occasion H.S.H. Prince Albert II dived together with the ACCOBAMS Executive Secretary, a team of professional divers and several Monegasque personalities committed to the protection of Marine Biodiversity to submerge a natural-sized dolphin-shaped statue in Larvotto's protected area. The statue was dedicated to the late memory of Rainer III.

 

Stelle di mare lungo il fiume

ACCOBAMS celebrated its 10th anniversary at "Stelle di mare lungo il fiume" festival!
ACCOBAMS Secretariat took part in the festival which was held in Rome on 22-26 June, committed to the conservation of biodiversity in the Mediterranean Sea and which was organised by Marevivo (an Italian environmental association).

ACCOBAMS 10th Anniversary

In occasion of ACCOBAMS' tenth birthday (24 November 2006), a series of happenings and scientific workshops are being organized by ACCOBAMS throughout 2006, beginning in March until the end of the year, reaching its climax in the week between 20 and 26 November.

 

Rotary Club meets Cetaceans

On 9th May 2006 a conference intended for the members of Monaco Rotary Club and organised by ACCOBAMS in the framework of its 10th Anniversary was held at Monaco's Hotel Mirabeau.

 

Cetaceans Regatta

Among all the activities organised by ACCOBAMS to celebrate its X Anniversary, the Cetacean Regatta was the first intended for the general public.
It was organised in collaboration with Circolo Vela Mare (Italian sailing school), Monaco Yacht Club, and Euromedia within the framework of Talassa.info multimedia project, aiming to combine the passion for the sea with the protection of cetaceans.

 

Workshop for the SE Med Countries

The Workshop for the South-Eastern Mediterranean Countries organized in collaboration with RAC/SPA (Regional Activity Service for Specially Protected Areas) Barcelona Convention was held from 9th to 11th March in Bizerte, Tunisia.
