European Seminar on Marine Mammals

Language: English (with simultaneous Spanish translation) Description of course: Courses held by European experts on topics including Life history strategies of marine mammals; Behavioural ecology of marine mammals; Foraging ecology and energetics of pinnipeds; Parasitism in marine mammal populations; Pathology of marine mammals; Impact of pollutants on marine mammals; Sensory physiology of marine mammals; Tracking techniques to study ecology and behaviour of marine mammals; Assessment of marine mammal population size and status; Management of cetacean populations; Conservation of marine mammals and Marine Protected Areas.
Duration: about 5 days, normally in September every two years (last seminar: September 2006)
Indicative costs: €120 registration fee. Limited number of grants available.
Conditions for participation: Applicants must be University students or post-graduates. Participation is limited to a maximum of 100 participants and is subjected to current availability and order of reception. Applications to be submitted in April-May.
