The GFCM Forum on Fisheries Science in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea (Fish Forum)

The 2nd edition of the GFCM Forum on Fisheries Science in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea (Fish Forum) will take place in Antalya, Türkiye from 19 to 23 February 2024.

This 2nd edition is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Türkiye and the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The Fish Forum, biggest scientific gathering dedicated to fisheries and related issues in the region, is an endorsed activity in support of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030). This major event for the Mediterranean and the Black Sea will provide a unique platform for discussions on fisheries research, social and economic science, and oceanography.

Climate change and innovative technologies will be the main themes of Fish Forum 2024.

ACCOBAMS Tele necropsy Proof of Concept Monastir 2023

The training on tele-necropsy was organized in the framework of the 6th Conference on Cetacean Conservation in South Mediterranean Countries (13 – 15 November 2023, Monastir, Tunisia) , co-organized by ACCOBAMS and UNEP-MAP/SPA-RAC thanks to the financial support of the Principality of Monaco and of Malta and in collaboration with INSTM.

Event: Interactions between shipping and cetaceans

On the occasion of the stopover of the boat Eagle II in the Principality of Monaco of the Pelagos expedition of the Association “We Are Méditerranée”, the Agreement on the Conservation of Cetaceans of the Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea and Contiguous Atlantic area – ACCOBAMS, in collaboration with Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the Pelagos Initiative and the Yacht Club of Monaco, organised on october 18th, 2023, an event to raise awareness about interactions between shipping and cetaceans.
